The restaurant is located at the very heart of the Old Town of Nice, in the famous rue du Marché, between the Porte Fausse and the Palais de Justice. Inside, both areas of the restaurant are equally warm and friendly. You will first discover a bistro atmosphere with a wooden counter, panelling and vintage lighting. Next door, opening onto the kitchen, is a completely different spirit, a retro grandmother's kitchen with formica tables, vintage fridge doors and old utensils found in the flea markets of Nice. Finally, on our terrace, you will experience the typical atmosphere of the rue du Marché.

I chose this profession out of passion, because it's a living profession and, above all, a profession for sharing. I'm keen to share and pass on this passion with the team around me, but also with customers through my vision of cooking. I'm particularly fond of our seasonal cuisine, which creates constant change and adds variety to our day-to-day work.
Alsatian by birth, Niçoise by adoption! The adventure started in 2011. The Comptoir Du Marché was created in the spirit of a bistro, which makes it a warm and friendly place. Our food is both classic and up to date, always inspired by family recipes which remind me of my Alsatian roots. With my team, I enjoy working with a family spirit while we all share the same taste for tradition and quality.
I discovered my passion for the food industry in London, where I was trained. When I returned to Nice after seven wonderful years as a Londoner, I immediately joined Le Comptoir du Marché. Sharing and generosity are part of my values, and always bubbly!
Our food is Mediterranean and seasonal, prepared according to the produce we find at the market every morning. It is inspired by our ideas of the day, our childhood memories, and our previous experiences in France.
Also, don't be surprised to have to choose between pâté en croûte or grilled calamari with artichokes, lean fish medallion and cockles with rosemary mashed potatoes, or beef stew.
Our cuisine, made from fresh and local products, is both generous and refined.

The Comptoir Du Marché is ideally located in the heart of the old part of the city, the Vieux-Nice, also called the "Babazouk" in the local dialect. It is a true institution of the Rue du Marché, just a stone's throw from the famous Nice market which is held all year round on Cours Saleya, from Tuesday to Sunday. Nearby, you will find the famous Porte Fausse, decorated by the artist Sarkis, or jewels of baroque architecture such as the Cathedral Sainte-Réparate, Place Rossetti, or the Palais Lascaris.
